Genetic Association Studies

Genetic Association Studies (aka, genome-wide association studies, "GWAS") are becoming more and more prevalent these days. The statistics and concepts in them are hard, not because they're all that different from what a basic epidemiology/biostatistics curriculum teaches you, but because they have different names for those same concepts.

JAMA articles serve as great introductions to genetic association studies. I recommend looking over each of these, as they all hit different points.

Unfortunately, you need a subscription to JAMA to read them.
